GIDEON PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS
THE HONEYCOMB TRILOGY
WRITTEN BY MAC ROGERS; DIRECTED BY JORDANA WILLIAMS
OCTOBER 13 – NOVEMBER 14 @ THE GYM AT JUDSON
Gideon Productions will present the much-anticipated return of Mac Rogers’ three-part science fiction epic, The Honeycomb Trilogy, directed by Jordana Williams and running in rep October 13-November 14 at The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street between West 3rd Street and Washington Square South). Tickets ($25) are available online at www.gideonth.com or by calling 866-811-4111.
THE HONEYCOMB TRILOGY is back by popular demand. A Critic’s Pick in The New York Times, Time Out New York and Backstage and winner of the Best Premiere Production honor from the New York Innovative Theater Awards, this decade-spanning science fiction epic follows one American family through an extraterrestrial invasion and occupation of earth. As son Abbie allies with the conquerors and daughter Ronnie leads the human resistance, THE HONEYCOMB TRILOGY explores culture, terrorism, sexuality, loyalty, justice, and forgiveness over the course of three action-packed, emotionally-charged stories. The entire saga takes place in the same house, as it – much like the world around it - is ravaged by war and rebuilt by hand over the course of twenty years. The three parts of the trilogy (Advance Man, Blast Radius, and Sovereign) will be presented individually on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. On Saturdays and Sundays audiences can binge-watch the entire trilogy.
“Mr. Rogers displays an impressive control over his sprawling material, creating a convincing postapocalyptic world inside a sturdy theatrical structure...a driving pace and a sneaky theatrical intelligence.” New York Times, Critics Pick
“If you want to make an argument for bringing science fiction to live theater, look no further... Rogers has a knack for highlighting the kind of modern stories that you don’t often see in theater, but that are just as universal as the themes explored by classic playwrights.” Tor.com
“Rogers could teach Hollywood a thing or two about how to do it right.” Io9.com
“One of the most original, complex, and compelling theatrical events of the year.”
Flavorpill, Editors Pick
“The crackling alien-takeover drama can operate independently of its former installments. In Cheek’s long series of downtown triumphs...I can not remember ever seeing her in such full, exultant stride.” Time Out NY, Critics Pick
All that is ugly, desperate, hopeful, and fiercely loving in humanity is on display.”
Show Business Weekly
“Mac Rogers—genre playwright extraordinaire—can rant like Sorkin, plot like Mamet, banter like Whedon and sting like a bee.” Time Out NY (Mac Rogers’ Asymmetric)

GIDEON PRODUCTIONS crafts gripping plays that explore human grace and darkness, through the kaleidescope of popular genre forms and other cultural touchstones. We reject the notion that thrills are cheap or that big ideas are boring. We explore what’s strange about being human and what’s human about being strange, using thrilling entertainment as a delivery system for challenging stories that take on religion, sexuality, politics, compulsion, popular culture, and the often strange bonds that tie people together in a rapidly changing world. We honor the time our audiences and collaborators devote to our productions and seek to deliver the utmost quality in experience and content.
